Guess What!! We got a new car! And as you can see from the photo… Bandit couldn’t be happier! He loves it. He truly makes himself at home! With the 5-zone climate control, comfy seats and all these amazon finds he’s got everything a pup could need to be comfortable going for a ride. Riley loves the car too, but she’s more focused on sticking as much of her body out the window as possible to feel the wind in her fur!
I handpicked some amazing Amazon finds that help make traveling with the fur-babies a breeze, and they won’t break the bank! Everything below is both Bandit and Riley approved! You can also go to my instagram to watch a full video showing how we use each of these products and to hear more about them. These are my top 5 amazon fur-baby car finds!
Dog Seat Cover
This dog seat cover is 100% waterproof and durable, plus it is the perfect size for my SUV but will also fit in cars and trucks. Not to mention it is easy to install and clean. You just wrap the buckles around your headrest and tuck the anchor into the seat. You can even use it as a bench style cover or a hammock and have it connect to your two front seats.
There are seat belt openings that cover with velcro. It has nifty pockets to store treats, toys or poop bags. It even has side flaps for extra protection.
It also has 3 layers of durable oxford-fabric thats built to last a lifetime. So not only is this seat cover protective and scratch proof but it is comfortable! I normally have blankets in the car, but Bandit doesn't mind laying on this cover and neither do my little brothers, and Bandit is a picky boy who wants to be comfortable and cozy. This makes the cover perfect for fur-babies and human babies! Plus it comes with seatbelts for your precious baby! But remember to NEVER connect the seatbelt to your dogs collar, only to a harness or vest, as connecting it to their collar can break their neck in the event of an accident or even slamming on the breaks if they get jerked around.
Shop Now Splashless Water Travel Bowl
This water bowl is perfect for travel! It has a tiered lip and is made with silicone which prevents splashing and spills. I don't know about you, but here in Florida it gets HOT and Bandit & Riley are always thirsty so I have to keep water in the car. But it use to get moved around and splash out of the bowl when I was driving. Now that I have this travel bowl the car stays dry and the water stays in the bowl.. until they drink it all up that is! This is such a genius idea!
Shop Now Stairs
These stairs were made to fit in your back side doors. Unlike other stairs that were created to lead to the trunk, these will fit in your side door without causing damage and lead your baby to the comfy back seat they deserve. Bandit has a bad hip and struggles to jump up and down. Those of you who have been following me for a while know that Bandit has a ramp to get onto the bed. But that still left him trying to jump into the car, missing the mark, falling and hurting himself. Thats where these stairs came in! They are lightweight, portable and take away the impact of jumping on your babies knees and joints. Ramps are also meant to take away this impact but they actually put more strain on their joints because most car ramps are too steep and do not secure appropriately to the ground leaving your dog struggling and trying to grab onto the ramp with their nails. Not only is this heartbreaking to watch but can be detrimental to their joints, soft tissue and bones. That is why both Bandit and I swear by these stairs.
Shop Now Dog Emergency Kit
This kit has everything you need in the event of an emergency or travel! It even comes with toys! The kit shown here is for big dogs but I have linked all the other sizes as well in my LiketoKnowIt. They also have a kit that is meant for people that have two big dogs! This emergency kit has enough food and water to last you 72 hours along with two collapsible bowls. And the first aid kit has everything from a vet wrap and tweezers to clot blood stopping powder and hydrogen peroxide. The emergency kit is complete with a first aid brochure, LED Light, a leash, a blanket and any other necessities. I keep my kit in my trunk 24/7 because it has a shelf life of 5 years and you never know when it might come in handy.
Shop Now Fur-Baby Seat Belt
This dog seat belt clicks into the buckle and the other end connects to your dogs harness keeping them secure and safe in their seat! I never let my fur-babies sit in the front seat without a seatbelt on. But it's a good idea to have them wear a seat belt anytime they're in the car. This seatbelt is universal but it is crucial to remember that you CANNOT connect it to their collar. If you get into an accident or slam on your breaks and they get jerked around it can break their neck, you want to have it hooked to their harness or vest. However, If you connect this to their harness and you're in an accident or have to hit the breaks quickly, your fur-baby will be safe and not go flying into the windshield, the seat in front of them or have any injury as a result.
